Increased security measures for this weekend’s match
West Ham United would like to make all supporters aware that there will be increased security activity taking place at this Sunday’s match against Liverpool, for the safety of all supporters and to prevent any fans of the away club from gaining access to home sections of the stadium.
Supporters are also advised to check their journeys before travelling as TfL has several lines affected over the weekend.
Entering the stadium
Supporters may observe an increased security presence when entering London Stadium and may need to comply with additional checks at the turnstiles. These measures are in place to ensure that home supporters only are seated in home sections and that all spectators have a safe and comfortable matchday experience. We kindly ask all supporters for patience when entering the stadium to allow our staff to carry out these checks, particularly during the busiest period in the 45 minutes leading up to kick-off.
Half-and-half scarves
West Ham United would like to remind supporters that half-and-half scarves and any items displaying the colours or crests of both clubs are permanently banned inside London Stadium. This policy applies at all fixtures. Supporters arriving with half-and-half scarves purchased from unofficial sellers will be required to hand them over to security staff at the security checkpoints and these scarves will not be returned once surrendered.
Fans wishing to purchase a scarf for the game are encouraged to visit the official West Ham United Stadium Store, the Riverside East retail pop-up or John Lewis in Westfield Stratford City, where a full range of official merchandise is available ahead of kick-off.
Use of home tickets
Only supporters of West Ham United are permitted to buy or use tickets in home sections. The club’s ticket T&Cs state that home match tickets are for use of supporters of the club only and that by using a ticket, fans warrant that they are not a supporter of the visiting club.
The Club applies a range of proactive steps to mitigate the risk of visiting supporters gaining access to tickets in the home sections. This includes monitoring ticket sales patterns for any suspected visiting or non-West Ham United supporters, liaising with the visiting club directly, cancelling ticket purchases, and blocking the accounts to prevent future bookings. The Club also monitors illegal ticketing agency websites and works with counterparts at other clubs and the Premier League to report any incidents of misuse to the authorities.
Reporting any issues on a matchday
While the Club has taken all possible actions to mitigate the risk of away supporters gaining access to home sections, there may be some occasions where this happens. Where these supporters are identified on matchday, they will be ejected from the stadium by stewards in line with the Club’s ground regulations. This can happen at the security checkpoints, at the turnstiles, or while in the stadium.
If a West Ham United supporter identifies an away fan in the home sections, we ask them to take action by reporting it to us. There are many ways supporters can report this:
- Report via the matchday text reporting service on 07701401966. Please provide as much information as possible, including the stand, row, seat number, description of the offender and incident. This message will be received by the Supporter Services Team and the supporters’ concern will be radioed to the control room for London Stadium staff to attend. There are posters in and around the stadium, in the Supporter Services information booths and toilets, advertising this number.
- Report via @WestHamHelp on X (formerly Twitter). This channel is constantly monitored prior to and during the match. Any messages sent to @WestHamHelp on X will be received by the Supporter Services Team and the supporters concern will be radioed immediately to the control room for London Stadium staff to attend the area.
- Report to the nearest steward wearing an orange or yellow jacket.
Go to the nearest information booth to report to a Supporter Liaison Officer. They will be wearing a blue tabard. There are five information booths in the stadium and these can be found at Blocks 110, 153, 141, 132 and 125
